Every time we choose to eat plant-based meals instead of animal products, we help the environment in the following ways:

  1. decrease GHG emissions
  2. eliminate manure output by animals
  3. drastically reduce water usage
  4. eliminate rainforest destruction in Central and South America
  5. minimize wildlife destruction
  6. provide food for the world’s hungry
  7. reduce land and energy resources
  8. diminish the proliferation of antibiotic-resistant superbugs
  9. reduce ammonia emissions which causes acid rain
  10. reduce the use of herbicide and decrease the proliferation of superweeds

 

We also benefit nutritionally:

  1. fewer calories
  2. less saturated fat
  3. usually less total fat
  4. eliminate all cholesterol (only present in animal products)
  5. getting sufficient, but not excessive protein
  6. increase in fiber intake
  7. increase in phytonutrients such as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals
  8. no IGF-1 (which promotes) cancer from dairy

 

And of course, no animals suffered and died unnecessarily.
